Gujarat Technological University (GTU) is constantly working to promote startups and innovation in the field of technology. GTU has set up GTU Innovation Centers at four locations in the state for the purpose of providing all kinds of research related facilities to the researchers.
From the current academic year 2020-21, the Seed Money Project has been launched by the GTU Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to enable researchers and innovators to participate in research financially.
GTU Chancellor Naveen Sethe said in this regard, Innovation and Research is an important unit in the Government’s Self-Reliant India Campaign. The project has also been launched by GTU to encourage innovators and researchers.
A seed money project has been launched to encourage students and professors of GTU-run PG buildings in research and innovation and also to help financially, with a grant of up to Rs 25,000 to research students and up to Rs 1 lakh to professors.
Grants will be allocated by selecting research projects of students and professors by maintaining a ratio of 1:10 during each academic year. GTU Graduate School of Pharmacy, Engineering, Management and GPU students and faculties will be eligible for this benefit. In addition, the best research project will also benefit from the National Funding Agency and appropriate steps will be taken to register its patent.
