Mumbai’s strongest team has won the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the fourth time. Under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw, Mumbai defeated UP by six wickets in the final played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Batting first, Uttar Pradesh scored 312 runs in 50 overs, in reply Mumbai achieved the target in 41.3 overs losing just four wickets.
In the final match of Vijay Hazare Trophy between Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, Prithvi Shaw has set a big record by playing a tumultuous innings. Prithvi Vijay Hazare has become the first player to score 800 runs in a single season of the trophy. He set the record at just 21 years old. He has scored 827 runs in the tournament with an average of 165.40 and a strike rate of 138.29.
In today’s match, Prithvi scored 73 off 39 balls with the help of 10 fours and four sixes against Uttar Pradesh. Notably, Prithvi had to walk off the field due to a leg injury sustained while fielding during UP’s batting. The team was worried that Prithvi would not be able to bat if the injury was serious but Prithvi landed on the field to achieve the target of 313 runs.
