Gujarat CM attends 3-day Swasthya Chintan Shivir organized at Kevadia

Inaugurating the three-day Swasthya Chintan Shibir at Statue of Unity-Ektanagar under the 14th meeting of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel said, this shibir and its results will benefit the health sector of the nation.

 

The camp, which is being held under the chairmanship of Union Health Minister Mansukhbhai Mandvia from May 5 to 7, has been attended by health ministers, secretaries and medical experts from 25 states and union territories of the country.

 

Addressing the inaugural session of the camp, the Chief Minister said that the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav is being celebrated all over the country, on the occasion of which all the state governments, representatives of Central Government Health Department, State and Union Ministers, experts are at Ektanagar to conduct joint efforts to make the country’s healthcare, healthcare practices, Ayurveda, AYUSH, Yoga comprehensive and better.

 

With the effective implementation of various schemes in Gujarat, in the year 2020-21, Gujarat ranks first among the major states in the country with a State Score of 86 in Sustainable Development Goals, Policy Commission Index – Health and Wellness.

 

In this year’s budget, Rs 12, 240 crore have been dedicated for the health schemes of all age groups starting from new born to senior citizen. The Gujarat government has allocated Rs 2 crore in the budget for tele-radiology, tele-ICU, tele-medicine and tele-mental health services in health institutions, he said. The Chief Minister made it clear that he was committed to ensure that everyone, even the poorest of poor can get best health facilities.

 

He also said that the Gujarat government has provided health cover to an estimated 2.25 crore citizens of Gujarat under ‘PMJAY-Maa Yojana’ by combining PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Janaarogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat) and Maa and Maa-Vatsalya Yojana.

 

Expressing happiness that for the first time in the vicinity of the huge statue of Sardar Saheb uniting the country, Gujarat State has hosted a three-day Swasthya Chintan Shibir under the 14th meeting of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare. We will be able to achieve fruitful results in the health sector through actions and exchange of ideas.

 

The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi has made it a point to make the country self-reliant by imbibing ‘Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas, Sauno prayas’ in health services through Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Global Infrastructure Mission

 

 

 

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandvia

 

Union Health Minister Shri Mansukhbhai Mandvia in the inaugural session of the three-day Swasthya Chintan Shibir said that the initiative towards building a healthy India through joint efforts of the Center and the States has been undertaken today at the Chintan Shibir.

 

Minister Shri Mansukhbhai Mandvia called upon the Health Ministers from various states and Union Territories as well as health leaders from across the country and the Union Territories to brainstorm on the concept of best management in the health sector in the state and the country by harmonizing the health services and facilities. The meeting of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare, which was earlier held in Delhi, is the beginning of a change in the tradition and the first time a Chintan Shibir has been organized in Ektanagar by honoring the invitation of Gujarat Health Minister Shri Hrishikeshbhai Patel, he said.

 

The Central Government has recently announced a special package of Rs.64000 crore to enhance the infrastructure of health services in the country. The projects will include medical college tertiary care facilities, state-of-the-art labs, technical services and equipment, the minister said.

 

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideology of ‘Total Development’, not ‘Token’, the Minister said that health fairs have recently been launched at the block level to make the health infrastructure in the country holistic without limiting it to a few people and areas.

 

Such health fairs have been successfully organized in about 6000 talukas and village level of the country and health related facilities and services have been easily provided to the citizens.

 

Referring to the Corona period, Minister Mansukhbhai said that the Corona situation in the country has come under control today as a result of joint efforts of the Central and State Governments in the difficult situation of Corona. “We have been largely successful in rescuing the country from the worst cases of Corona virus,” he said.

 

Stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we have been successful in giving the first dose of corona vaccination to 4.5 per cent citizens of India with a population of 135 crore, Bharat model of corona management and vaccination has become a subject of study for other countries.

 

Union Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar said that the role of Gujarat has been key in the history of India. The government has taken concerted efforts to make the slogan of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ meaningful by showing a new approach towards overcoming the shortcomings that have plagued the health sector for decades.

 

The research strength of Indian scientists has been demonstrated to the country and the world by producing indigenous vaccines through effective health management in the months leading up to the Corona situation.

 

The Chief Minister and the Union Health Minister launched the National Quality Assurance Service NQAS Portal, the Prime Minister’s National Dialysis Portal under the National Health Mission as well as the National Family Health Survey Report and Rural Health Statistics Report and Gujarat Health Atlas.

The camp was attended by Health Ministers of 25 States and Union Territories, Union Health and Family Welfare Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, NITI aayog Member Dr. VK Paul, Additional Health Secretary Vikas Sheel, Health Secretaries of various states, Health Commissioners and National Health Mission Mission Directors were present.
