Britain’s newly elected Prime Minister Liz Truss will now finalize her new cabinet after being elected leader of the Conservative Party. Rishi Sunak, who lost 57-43 percent of the votes, said after the results that he was proud of the campaign he ran. Estimated to have only one Indian in Truss’s cabinet

 

 

Truss will take formal office on Tuesday as the UK’s third female prime minister after an audience with the Queen in Scotland. Their key ministerial portfolios are expected to be announced by Tuesday evening. At present, Attorney General Suella Braverman is likely to be the only Indian-origin MP in this cabinet. There is a discussion that there is a preparation to replace Suela of Goa origin as Home Secretary in place of Priti Patel.
