1ST METRO PIER COMESINSIDE THE KEMPEGOWDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT : BENGALURU, KARNATAKA.
The first metro pier at the Kempegowda International airport was casted on Saturday afternoon marking the breakthrough for the final phase of 2b line from the Yelank till the airport terminal, the distance of around 15km will be 67 piers.

While talking about the same the Deputy chief engineer said that “it took a little of 3 hours to complete, work on the line began at 1:35 and was completed at 3:36pm.”
Further adding he said “it has taken us over 4 months since we began barricading the portion of the airport to ready the pillars, we had to transplant around 200 plants to the dotted lines and shift the water lines as well as the electric poles to facilitate the work. We had to take permission from the Bengaluru airport at every stage as it passed through their campus.”
The pier shutter is a unique piece of equipment where the segments are placed at a spot together with numerous bolts.
