A new study by UK’s Online Mortgage Advisor has revealed a lot of interesting information related to the cities of India. This study has been done on the happiest cities all over the world in terms of buying a house. In this, five cities in India have been selected out of the 20 happiest cities in the world to buy a house. Chandigarh is at number one in this.
The study ranked Mumbai as the least happy city in the world for buying a home. Whereas Surat has got the fifth place in this list. The study found Barcelona in Spain to be the happiest city in the world to buy a home.
At the same time, Florence of Italy is at number two and Ulsan city of South Korea is at number three.
This list of happy cities has been made after analyzing thousands of Instagram posts and the happiness of people’s faces by location.
The study found the average Happiness Score of home buyers in Barcelona to be 95.4 out of 100 , which was 15.6% higher than the global Happiness Score of home buyers .
Chandigarh was found to be the happiest city in India to buy a home, which ranks fifth on this global list. Among the rest of the 20 cities in India, Jaipur is at 10th position, Chennai at 13th and Indore and Lucknow at 17th and 20th place respectively.
According to the study, Mumbai is the least happy city in the world for buying a home. The average Happiness Score for Mumbai was 68.4 out of 100. This was 17.1% lower than the global Happiness Score of home buyers.
Atlanta in the US and Sydney in Australia were ranked second and third in the list of the world ‘s least happy cities to buy a home . Apart from Mumbai, Surat city of India is also at fifth place in the list of least happy city in the world.
This is how the Happiness Score measured – this study has been done in August 2021 on the basis of thousands of geo-tagging Instagram posts around the world. Through the tags faces in these posts, it was found out that the happiness level of recent home buyers compared to a normal Instagram user. Two sets of photographs were made for this study. One that was posted with the hashtag #selfie and the other with the hashtag #newhomeowner. The scores were detected by scanning these faces tagged in the post using the Microsoft Azure Facial Recognition Tool .
