Addressing 175th Vidya Gyan Parv of Gujarat Vidhya Sabha in Ahmedabad, the Chief Minister remarked that, during the Azadi No Amrut Mahotsav, Gujarat Vidhya Sabha embodied one of the ‘Panch Pran’ (Five Pledges) outlined by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. As proud Gujaratis, we should all celebrate the Gujarati language. The Chief Minister affirmed that the government will support Gujarat Vidhya Sabha in raising awareness and promoting the Gujarati language.
Emphasizing the government’s dedication to enhancing the prominence of the Gujarati language, the Chief Minister highlighted that Gujarati education has been made compulsory from classes 1 to 8, highlighting the importance of prioritizing the mother tongue in education.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership, he remarked that India, under stable and capable governance, has gained the trust not only of its citizens but also of people worldwide. Highlighting the foreign tours conducted in conjunction with Vibrant Gujarat, he mentioned the keen interest of global industrialists and investors in fostering economic ties with India. Additionally, he emphasized that Gujarat remains the preferred choice for investment in the country.
It is worth noting that the Gujarat Vernacular Society, established in 1848 by Alexander Kinlock Forbes and poet Shri Dalpatram, evolved into the renowned Gujarat Vidhya Sabha. The Chief Minister unveiled the booklet ‘Gujarat Vidhya Sabhani Avirat Yatra’ chronicling the journey from its inception to the present.
On this occasion, Gujarat Vidhya Sabha Chairman Shri Shreyansh Shah, Former Chief Secretary Shri P.K. Laheri, Senior Historian Shri Makrand Mehta and his wife Smt. Shirin Mehta, Lord Meghnad Desai, Dr. Kumarpal Desai, Professor of HK College, and a multitude of literary enthusiasts and students remained present.
