Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that Garima Cell will play a catalytic role in giving new energy, new direction to the higher education system of the state. We have maintained the policy of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to conduct result oriented programs in the public interest. The ‘Garima Cell’ will further enhance the dignity of the state’s education sector, he added.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel virtually launched, To lead higher education institutions in getting various ratings and rankings, Garima Cell, was virtually launched by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel from Science City.
The first of its kind in the country, the Gujarat Accreditation and Ranking Institute Mechanism and Arrangement – Garima Cell whose headquarter will be at IITE (Indian Institute of Teachers Education) and will be functioning from there.
In this regard, the Chief Minister further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the growth of Gujarat’s education sector has reached new heights. Gujarat is the growth engine of the country. New changes are taking place in every field including education, also new initiatives are being taken.
The Prime Minister has made Gujarat’s overall progress journey on the pillars of Gyan Shakti, Urja Shakti, Raksha Shakti, Jal Shakti and Jan Shakti. With the establishment of the Garima Cell, the state government has taken another step in that direction of journey.
He said that Gujarat has a world class infrastructure, quality education and training institute. The university is thriving with sector specific education. The Garima Cell will play a key role in preparing these organizations to take their rankings at the national and international level.
On this occasion, Education Minister Shri Jitu Vaghani said that Shri Narendra Modi has started to transform the education sector of the country by giving a new education policy. In Gujarat, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, higher educational institutions of the state are developing and gaining new achievements. Hundreds of students from abroad are studying in private as well as government educational institutions in Gujarat.
He said that Garima Cell would help such higher educational institutions of the state in maintaining the quality of institutions. There were eight universities functioning in Gujarat two decades ago which has increased to 102 today. This is the result of 20 years of good governance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Minister of State for Education Shri Kuber Dindor said that the functioning of Garima Cell will revolutionize the education sector in the state and transform the higher education system. The cell will be instrumental in getting the state’s higher education institutions super-evaluated through national as well as international rating agencies.
He further said that Garima Cell is an innovative initiative which will continue to be a guide for the state’s higher education institutions in providing ultra-modern and timely education. Garima Cell will be helpful in providing necessary training guidance to teachers, administrators of educational institutions.

In addition to the International Ranking, National Institutional Ranking Framework and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) at the national level as well as Gujarat State Ranking Framework (GSIRF) at the state level. In order to achieve significant rankings like NIRF, ARIIA, Garima Cell has signed MoUs with international as well as national level institutions and universities.
