Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is adopting a new approach aimed at improving the Ease of Living of the citizens by focusing on numerous public welfare projects across the towns and cities of the state. Approving a substantial allocation of INR 483.71 crores, the Chief Minister is committed to implementing 424 diverse welfare projects in the three major cities of the state, aiming for the realization of sustainable development goals.

 

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, initiated the celebration of Swarnim Jayanti in 2010, introducing the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has allocated INR 483.71 crores for these three major cities under this Yojana.

 

In line with this, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has granted a substantial allocation of INR 20.74 crores for road improvements up to the Signature Bridge towards Gift City, a project presented by the Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority-GUDA, from Bhaijipura, Gandhinagar.

 

Along the Gandhinagar-Koba highway leading to GIFT City, numerous esteemed universities and institutions have already been established. Recognizing the potential of this area as a knowledge hub and anticipating the upcoming metro rail, a special allocation of Rs. 20.74 crore has been approved under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. This funding will be specifically directed towards the development and beautification of the main road connecting Gandhinagar and Koba.

 

Considering the forthcoming Vibrant Summit-2024 scheduled in Gandhinagar, the Chief Minister has given in-principle approval for five infrastructure development projects, including footpaths, landscaping, theme-based painting, and artwork on 3 overbridges and 2 underpasses, along with major roads, totalling Rs. 35.50 crore.

 

The CM has approved the allocation of Rs. 10.70 crore from Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana for two proposals. These include development projects for the outgrowth areas of the Gandhinagar Municipality, involving beautification and landscaping of the road from Raksha Shakti Circle to Koba Circle, as well as the creation of new cement concrete roads in the villages within the Municipality.

 

Funds were also allocated to the Surat and Vadodara Municipal Corporations for development projects under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.

 

Additionally, in-principle approval was granted for the allocation of Rs. 145 crore for the construction of two auditoriums—Nanpura in the Surat Central zone and Katar village in the North zone of Surat.

 

In addition, the Chief Minister has approved to allocation of a grant of Rs 151.25 crore for 75 projects. These encompass 21 projects related to physical infrastructure facilities, 19 projects focusing on social infrastructure facilities, and two projects dedicated to urban mobility under outgrowth area development works.

 

Also, the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 63.81 crore for the Surat Municipal Corporation. This fund will cover 175 projects, including road carpeting, re-carpeting, and widening of existing roads and footpaths under the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana.

 

The Chief Minister has granted in-principle approval for the allocation of Rs. 57.60 crore to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation. This funding will cover 164 projects, encompassing water supply, rainwater drainage works, road projects, and paver block works.

These initiatives will pave the way for a renewed perspective on long-term sustainable development in cities and metropolises, making urban life more convenient.
