Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel encouraged the dedicated medical teachers shaping the nation’s medical landscape during the ‘Faculty Development Program’ held at Apollo Hospital-Gandhinagar. This program was conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences, a body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.


On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has experienced a comprehensive development paradigm over the past 9 years. This approach has generated considerable positive transformations in the country’s education and healthcare sectors.


Whether it’s the introduction of the new National Education Policy or the establishment of 225 medical colleges with an increase of 70,000 medical seats nationwide, the Prime Minister has consistently highlighted the importance of people-centric governance and proactive approaches across all sectors,” he emphasized.


The Chief Minister conveyed his confidence that this faculty development program will foster proactive approaches, particularly in the field of medical education and healthcare. Such programs for faculty development will play a vital role in enhancing both professional and personal growth.


In this age of technological revolution, the medical sector is advancing rapidly. The CM conveyed a firm belief that at such time, faculty development programs will contribute to promoting a comprehensive approach within the medical field.


He emphasized that, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, healthcare services have been extended to every corner of the nation, ensuring access for the general public. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has provided health coverage to millions of underprivileged families across the country. Moreover, Ayushman Bharat Accounts has introduced a pioneering digital health record initiative.


When the Prime Minister served as Chief Minister of Gujarat, he aspired to establish multi-specialty hospitals even in the most remote villages. The dedicated efforts of Team Gujarat have now turned this dream into reality. Today, the state’s multi-specialty hospitals offer advanced healthcare services to residents in distant areas. The Chief Minister highlighted that dialysis centers, addressing kidney-related conditions, are available in every taluka across Gujarat, while chemotherapy centers have been set up at district headquarters to aid in the treatment of critical illnesses like cancer.


Gujarat has shown a steadfast commitment to enhancing medical education, steadily increasing the number of medical colleges and available seats. Currently, Gujarat boasts a total of 40 functioning medical colleges, including AIIMS institutions. The Chief Minister also noted that each year, more than 7,000 doctors enter the state’s medical workforce after completing their education in these institutions.

During the event, notable personalities of the medical field, including the Chairman of the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences, Shri Abhijat Sheth, Executive Director Prof. Minu Bajpai, Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Hospital, Shri Neeraj Lal, and other esteemed doctors and dignitaries, remained present.
