During the Amrit Kalash Festival, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel remarked that the nation has witnessed rapid development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also noted that last year, as part of the celebration of 75 years of independence, the country entered the Amrit era with the grand Amrit Mohotsav festivities led by the Prime Minister.

Discussing the ‘Mari Mati, Maro Desh’ campaign, the Chief Minister emphasized that our freedom’s foundation is nurtured by the sacrifices and dedication of brave martyrs. Courageous heroes from every corner of the nation have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Mother India. To honor such heroic sons, the Hon’ble Prime Minister initiated the ‘Mari Mati, Maro Desh’ campaign, promoting greater national consciousness among the citizens and offering an opportunity to comprehend the sacrifices and lives of these gallant martyrs.

Further elaborating on this occasion, the Chief Minister noted that since Hon’ble Narendra Modi assumed the role of Prime Minister, our global position has steadily improved. He also emphasized that ongoing efforts, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, are directed towards uniting all citizens and their active participation in the realization of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.’

Discussing the significant decisions and programs implemented during the Prime Minister’s tenure, the Chief Minister emphasized that over the past 9 years, the thoughtful guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister has led to numerous measures aimed at enhancing the nation’s pride. He highlighted various accomplishments, including the construction of the Ram Mandir, the abolition of Article 370, and successful operations such as Operation Dost, Kaveri, Ganga, and Ajay for the safe repatriation of our citizens and students from war-torn regions, all of which have been achieved under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that a total of 29,925 heroes, veterans, and their families have been honored through the ‘Mari Mati, Maro Desh’ initiative. Notably, an impressive 21 lakh citizens enthusiastically participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony, displaying a unique sense of national unity.

The Chief Minister shared that 15,000 Kalashes will be diligently collected from every village across the state and sent to Delhi. This gesture will help preserve Gujarat’s identity in the upcoming Amrit Vatika. He earnestly called upon all those present to contribute to the nation-building process by fulfilling their responsibilities, guided by the five resolutions outlined by the Prime Minister during this era of enduring independence.

During his speech at the Amrit Kalash Festival, Navsari MP Shri C.R. Patil emphasized that the profound sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters have inspired the nationwide “Mari Mati, Maro Desh” campaign. This initiative, driven by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, stands as a true tribute to all the valiant soldiers who gave their lives for the priceless gift of freedom. As a result, this campaign, centered on showing reverence for the motherland and honoring the brave heroes of the nation, has fostered a heightened sense of national unity among the people.

Mr. Patil highlighted that, as part of this campaign, the Rakshak Veers

of the nation were honored, and a multitude of programs were organized at various levels, encompassing villages, panchayats, talukas, urban areas, local bodies, as well as at the state and national levels.

This campaign will lend profound meaning to the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav. Kalash from every corner of the nation will be sent to Delhi, where Amrit Vatika will be created using the collected soil near the National War Memorial. It is with great conviction that we expect that Amrit Vatika, a project initiated with the Prime Minister’s determination, will stand as a symbol of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.’

In his welcome address, Minister of State for Home Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that the ‘Mari Mati, Maro Desh’ program, organized in conjunction with Azadi Amrit Mohotsav, following the call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has garnered an unparalleled response across the state. The participation, marked by a unique enthusiasm, showcased the program’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices made by martyrs throughout the country. Kalash Yatras were conducted in over 15 thousand villages across the state, and Sheela Falkams were constructed to convey the significance of these martyrs’ sacrifices to the next generation. Furthermore, the planting of trees and the collection of holy soil from each village contributed to the creation of Amrit Vatika, marking this as a historic festival, he added.

The Home Minister also stated that, in response to the Prime Minister’s call, people showed the same enthusiasm in participating in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program last year. Even during the challenging times of the pandemic, we united to applaud our frontline warriors and boost their morale. Today, we have reached new heights in our quest for freedom, akin to reaching the moon. This grand program signifies our deep reverence for the soil that forms the core of our ancestral faith. Additionally, through this initiative, we pay tribute to the valiant martyrs and their unwavering courage in protecting our borders, he added.

During the event, the audience had the opportunity to view the Gujarat campaign film ‘Mari Mati, Maro Desh’ and the Mitti Anthem. Furthermore, folk artists presented captivating cultural performances.
