PM Narendra Modi will address the inaugural function of the National Metrology Seminar on January 4, 2021. During the program, they will dedicate the ‘National Atomic Timescale’ and the ‘Indian Indicator’ to the nation, as well as lay the foundation stone of the ‘National Environmental Standards Laboratory’. In this program, Union Minister Dr. Harshvardhan will also be present.
The National Atomic Timescale generates Indian standard time with an accuracy of 2.8 nanoseconds. Indian Indicator assists in laboratory testing and calibration in accordance with international standards to ensure substance quality. The National Environmental Standards Laboratory will help in self-sufficiency in the certification of atmospheric air and industrial emissions monitoring devices.
The Indian Metrology Seminar 2020 is being organized by the National Physical Sciences Laboratory (CSIR-NPL) Council, New Delhi, entering its 75th year of scientific and industrial research. The theme of the seminar is ‘Metrology for Collaborative Development of the Nation’.
