Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasized that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has prioritized startup innovation to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 by harnessing the strength of the nation’s talent pool.

Highlighting this, he mentioned that the Prime Minister has given significance to the youth in global competition through the ‘three-s’ concept, which includes Startup, Skill, and Sports.

The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration of the Startup Conclave-2023 at the Exhibition Center in Gandhinagar. Organized by the Education Department of the State Government, this conclave serves as a pre-event to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

Positioned as an international-level gathering, the Startup Conclave-2023 acts as an efficient platform for the exchange of ideas and opportunities among startup investors and angel networks, connecting Gujarat with national and international participants.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel encouraged the young and enthusiastic startups taking part in this conclave. He highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has envisioned providing the youth with a tangible manifestation of real-time global practical knowledge and innovations that go beyond the knowledge and skills taught through traditional methods, showing foresight by thinking ahead of time. To achieve this vision, the Prime Minister initiated the Startup India program in 2016. He added that following the success of Startup India, India has now become the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

This achievement is attributed to the Prime Minister’s commitment to offering a global platform to the youth of the country. CM Shri Bhupendra Patel further mentioned that Gujarat has been at the forefront of youth-centric initiatives, showcasing successful endeavors in contributing to the development of a new India.

In 2016, Gujarat introduced a startup policy under the guidance of the Prime Minister. CM Shri Bhupendra Patel, highlighting the significance of this policy, stated that following the success of the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0, which includes a provision of Rs. 500 crores, the state government has established essential infrastructure and mechanisms to facilitate the conversion of innovative ideas from the state’s youth into viable industries. This has led to the development of a comprehensive startup ecosystem.

Due to these commendable initiatives, Gujarat has achieved the honor of being the top-performing state in startup rankings for three consecutive times, he stated.

The Chief Minister expressed his belief that this startup conclave, serving as a prelude to the Vibrant event, will serve as an excellent platform to connect the young startups of Gujarat and the nation with the global community, facilitating the exchange of innovative ideas and knowledge.

He also mentioned that inspired by the Prime Minister, the innovative start of the Vibrant Summit in 2003, aimed at spotlighting Gujarat’s business industry on the global map, has evolved into a robust and extensive ecosystem today.

The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled for January 2024, with the theme ‘Gateway to the Future,’ focusing on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, and e-mobility. This preliminary conclave leading up to the Vibrant Summit aims to inspire young startups in these emerging sectors as well, he mentioned.

The Chief Minister specifically highlighted the Prime Minister’s guiding mantra, ‘Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai, Bharat Ka Anmol Samay Hai’

The CM appealed to the youth to contribute towards building the Viksit Bharat-Unnat Bharat by further enhancing the startup ecosystem through innovation during this precious Amrit Kaal.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the “Startup Conclave-2023” at Helipad Ground-Gandhinagar. Union Minister of State Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Gujarat’s Higher Education Minister Shri Rushikesh Patel remained present.

Minister of State Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Minister of Skill Development Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed that the current period is the most significant and historic time in India’s history post-independence. He highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s emphasis on digitization and technology, leading to continuous progress in the investment and digital ecosystems since 2014. Over the last 9 years, India, formerly recognized primarily as a consumer, has successfully established itself as a producer.

He emphasized that before 2014, only three to four sectors significantly influenced India’s economy, but now every sector is playing a vital role in the country’s economic development. Consequently, India has emerged as the fastest-growing economy globally. This current decade marks a digital and technological revolution in the country, with projections indicating that the digital economy will contribute to one-fifth of India’s GDP by 2026. The present era presents numerous opportunities in the technology sector, making it an ideal time for startups and innovation.

Predicting that the upcoming decade will be known as the “Techade,” he anticipated a crucial technological revolution in India during the next few decades. This transformation is expected to propel the startup and innovation sector to new heights of success. Additionally, this decade will play a significant role in realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat@2047.”

Praising the Gujarat government for hosting this conclave, the Union Minister expressed that through this event, Gujarat has established a robust foundation for the advancement of startups in the country. This initiative is poised to chart a new course for the nation.

Looking forward to the golden age of independence in 2047, the minister emphasized the pivotal role that skilled youth will play in constructing a new India. He suggested that, following developments in the capital market and real estate, the present era is suitable for investment in innovative ideas.
