Galaxy S21 Ultra has one of the best displays in Android smartphones
Galaxy S21 Ultra features 6.8-inch WQHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with variable refresh rate of between 10Hz and 120Hz. In layman terms, Samsung claims that this display offers better contrast ratio, colour accuracy and the refresh rate will automatically change between 10Hz and 120Hz as per the content on the screen. There’s Corning Glass Victus protection of both front and back.
Samsung is offering the most advanced chip and the S21 Ultra is a smooth performer
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is powered by the latest 5nm-based Exynos 2100 5G SoC. It’s a smooth performer and there’s nothing that can create problems for this phone– 8K videos, gaming, multitasking or video editing. However, while shooting 8K videos or gaming, the device does get heated. For someone who has already used the S20 Ultra, there is very little difference in real life performance. Having said that Samsung claims 20% better CPU performance, 35% GPU performance and AI works 2X better. Another thing to be noted is that the face unlock is not the fastest and could be quite frustrating at times.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with one of the most advanced cameras in phones
The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a quad camera setup with 12MP Dual Pixel A/F Ultra wide, Phase Detection A/F F1.8 wide and two telephoto lenses of 10MP each with 3X and 10X optical zoom respectively. There’s 100X digital zoom and laser auto focus. Samsung has introduced a new Zoom lock feature which stabilises photos when you are using high zoom for better clarity. The 108MP resolution is achieved with 12MP (12MP x9) nona-binning technology which claims to improve low-light shots and offer better noise reduction.
The device can shoot great photos and video in good lighting conditions. The 100X zoom is still something that needs to be worked out. Under dark conditions, you would need to tweak settings to get desired results instead of simply relying on Auto mode. On the front, there’s a 40MP selfie camera which does a decent job.
