The release date of late Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor’s film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ has been revealed. The film, which showcases the actor’s last screen appearance, will be released on an OTT platform on March 31. Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, the film also stars Paresh Rawal along with Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha and Isha Talwar.
The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment along with Honey Tehran and Abhishek Chaubey. Farhan Akhtar shared the poster of the film on Instagram and wrote that Sharmaji is coming, we should apply tadka in our life. The world premiere will take place on 31 March. Viewers will be able to watch this film on Amazon Prime Video.
Based on themes of self-realization and discovery, ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ tells the story of a retired man. The film itself is quite special, it is going to see “a heartwarming tale of self-realization and discovery”. Discovers his passion for cooking after joining.
In this film, two veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal will be seen playing the same character. When the shooting of this film was going on, Rishi Kapoor’s health had deteriorated, due to which he did not shoot for the rest of the film.
