Veteran Anand Pandit is busy juggling projects in different formats and languages at the moment because he feels audiences are no longer interested in just one kind of story-telling. He says, “Audiences are now open to any story as long as it is compelling, regardless of what language and format it is told in or which part of the country or the world it is set in. This is a clear signal for makers to pull themselves out of a creative rut and transcend cliches because the audience already has. The audience is in fact teaching us to create content beyond limitations imposed by language barriers and a restrictive format.”

On his part, Pandit is excited that he is expanding his creative horizons by backing projects in regional languages that have the potential to go global. A case in point is his much-awaited Marathi film ‘Victoria’ which could add a new chapter to the cinema with its unusual theme and production values. Pandit says, “This is not the only project I am looking forward to. I am creating content across all formats in many languages including Gujarati. If Korean content can blow up globally, there is no reason why our stories can’t with their strong emotional core and universally relevant themes. ”
