The MoU between i-Create of Gujarat and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research CSIR of the Government of India concluded at Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.

The MoU will provide CSIR and i-Create joint resources for entrepreneurs and researchers in the country. This will give a new impetus to the creation of world class startups with rapid economic growth in the country and the state.

Not only that, but the establishment of a collaborative support system for skilled and promising tech startups will also promote scientific innovation and marketability of high-tech startups. Additional Chief Secretary of the Industry Department of the State Government, Shri. Rajiv Kumar Gupta and CSIR’s Chief Scientist and Head Central Planning Directorate Shri K. Venkatesh Subramaniam exchanged views.

This important MoU will help iCreate install new incubators in designated CSIR labs and allow such start-ups to use CSIR’s tools, facilities and scientific manpower. CSIR will explore new ways to provide financial support to India’s innovative start-ups to encourage emerging entrepreneurs by providing intellectual property support.

Gujarat has taken the lead in this MoU in the call made by the Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi for realizing the resolve of ‘Atmanirbhar India’ by encouraging startup innovation of the youth of the country.

iCreate will also benefit from its strong industry connections and market linkages, so that real needs can be identified and fulfilled through the scientific innovations undertaken by CSIR scientists. Thus, the rapid commercialization of innovations undertaken by CSIR will be commercialized and the global market will also be accessible.

The merger of iCreate and CSIR is expected to open up new opportunities for start-ups as a result of the new synergy between multiple stakeholders.

iCreate has helped a significant number of start-ups grow rapidly and increase productivity across all sectors. Now in collaboration with CSIR, iCreate will support India’s strong innovative start-up ecosystem.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that this participation would be important for the young startups and the entire startup-innovation-research ecosystem.

Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, CEO of i-Create Shri Anupam Jalote as well as senior officials of CSIR were present on the occasion.
