Umesh Yadav scored 18 runs in 12 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the other hand, Varun Chakraborty remained unbeaten on 10 runs in 16 balls. For the first time in IPL history, the number 10 and 11 batsman has scored in double digits in the same innings. After the team’s 9 wickets fell for 101 runs, in the end, it was the result of their innings that KKR also managed to reach 128 runs.

 

The 27-run partnership between Umesh and Varun is the biggest partnership not only for Kolkata Knight Riders in the match against RCB but also for the 10th wicket in IPL 2022.

 

 

Varun holds the record for most balls

Varun Chakraborty faced 16 balls in his innings. With this, he also made a record. Batting at number 11, he has become the player to face the most balls in an IPL innings. In this case, he broke the record of Ishant Sharma, who faced 15 balls while batting at number 11 in the match against Chennai Super Kings in 2010. In this case, Mohammad Siraj is at number three.
