Whenever a team becomes the world champion, the youth in that country gets their hero, which affects their life and then they start dreaming of becoming like him. The same thing happened during the 2011 Cricket World Cup when Yuvraj Singh was batting, 15-year-old Shubham Garhwal had something else going on in his mind.
This time Shubham will be seen playing for Rajasthan in IPL. He said that when he saw Yuvraj batting during the 2011 World Cup, he wanted to play like him. They said
“I was really young at that time, playing street cricket in my hometown of Jodhpur and couldn’t even hold a bat properly.
But watching Yuvraj Singh bat gave me a lot of inspiration. I am also a left hander so I really liked the way he used to hit the ball. I think that was a period that really changed my life.”
“I am excited to play for the Royals. I am from Rajasthan myself and this is the biggest moment of my life. The joy I have seen on the faces of my parents is that I have given my everything to the team. Inspires. I am really looking forward to working with Sanga sir as well. He is one of the greatest left handed batsmen. I am sure I will get to learn a lot from him.
Recalling the day of the auction, he said, “I couldn’t believe that I would be picked. The moment I was bought was full of excitement for me. Rajasthan will start their IPL campaign on March 29 with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
