Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn arrived in India on Thursday to start his new innings as the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. Steyn, 38, who retired in August last year, will join Sunrisers Hyderabad’s coaching staff, which includes head coach Tom Moody, batting coach Brian Lara and spin bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan. Steyn has taken 97 wickets in 95 matches for Sunrisers.
He said in a video, ‘Yes, I am very happy after returning. I have been in India for some time, so very excited to be back. Driving through the airport brought back so many memories. I have been here before, with the South African team or with the IPL teams, so I am very excited. I am really excited to have a new role for me, the coaching role. It’s a completely new role watching players, which is fantastic. I am ready to take the field.

Dale Steyn took part in a total of 95 matches in this league and took 97 wickets in it. His average was 25.85, while his economy rate was 6.91. Dale Steyn’s best performance in this league was 3 wickets for 8 runs. He had the best performance in IPL in the year 2013 and took 19 
wickets in 17 matches. His best performance in this season was 3 for 11. At the same time, in his last season i.e. the year 2020, he played three matches and got only one wicket.
