On the second day of his Japan visit, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held discussions with various trade organizations and financial institutions.

 

In this context, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel met with the Chairman of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Mr. Tadashi Maeda, Governor Mr. Hayashi Nobumitsu, and other officials.

 

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel provided details of the cooperation between JBIC and Gujarat, which has been ongoing for a considerable period.

 

The Chairman of JBIC welcomed the Chief Minister and the delegation. Discussions were held on various projects, including ongoing projects in India, particularly Nippon Steel in collaboration with JBIC.

 

Highlighting the partnership with India, the Chairman mentioned that JBIC not only supports high-speed rail but also gives significant importance to sectors such as Green Ammonia, Green Hydrogen among others. Japanese companies have benefited greatly from their participation in collaboration with India. He said that Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is an area of focus for Japanese investors, and expressed eagerness to work with the Gujarat government through the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2024, during the meeting.

 

The Chief Minister stated that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ‘ease of doing business’ in India made it an accessible destination for foreign investments.

 

Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed gratitude to JBIC for its involvement in various projects in India and Gujarat.

 

The Chief Minister also extended an invitation to JBIC to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

In this meeting, India’s Ambassador to Japan, Shri Sibi George, and Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, including members of the delegation, were present.
