PM will inaugurate the construction work of Agra Metro project on December 7

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the construction of Agra Metro Project on December 7, 2020 at 11:30 AM through video conferencing. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath and other dignitaries will also participate in the event to be held at 15 Battalion PAC Parade Ground, Agra.

The Agra Metro project consists of 2 corridors with a total length of 29.4 km and connects major tourist attractions like Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandra with the railway station and bus stand. The project will benefit the 26 lakh population of Agra city and will also cater to more than 60 lakh tourists visiting Agra every year. It will provide an environmentally friendly mass rapid transit system to the historic city of Agra. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 8,379.62 crore. The project will be completed in 5 years.
