Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel hoisted the tricolour during the state-level grand celebration of the 77th Independence Day in Valsad. He rode in an open jeep and greeted the citizens present for the occasion.

 

Addressing the gathering he said that Gujarat is determined to contribute majorly towards transforming Amrit Kaal into Kartavya Kaal through ‘Panch Pran’ given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

 

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and with good governance the country is now realizing the dream of the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve freedom and to preserve the pinnacle of the glory of Mother India, the CM stated.

 

Congratulating the citizens of the state on the auspicious occasion of Independence, he said, “By following the path of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign to take pride in the soil of the motherland and to reveal the pride of the nation’s identity, Gujarat has become determined to be a leader in building a developed India during this Amrit Kaal.”

 

Briefing further on this context he said that a historical budget of ₹3 lakh crore based on five pillars was presented for the year 2023-24 during this Amrit Kaal keeping in mind the bright future of youth and keeping Gujarat at the forefront.

 

Elaborating on the five pillars of development he said Building world-class infrastructure to enhance human resource development, public well-being and economic prosperity with the benefit of basic amenities and social security to the poor needy sections of the society, balanced development, agriculture, industry and service sector and Green Growth, including basic amenities for the poor and needy sections.

 

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed his confidence in the mantra of development-green growth given by the Prime Minister, in balance with the environment, which will be realized in Gujarat with 5G.

 

Briefing about the 5G development of Gujarat CM said, Gujarat’s dynamic, qualitative and global 4G (GAURAVSHALI, GATISHIL, GUNWAAN, GLOBAL) services will now transform into 5G with Green Energy. This will make it environmentally sustainable. To achieve this, significant projects focused on green and clean energy have been initiated in the state.

 

A 30 GW Hybrid Renewable Energy Park is taking shape near Khavda in Kutch. Moreover, Gujarat is the first in the entire nation with wind energy installed capacity of 10,123 MW.

 

Giving details about the EV policy implemented in Gujarat to promote electric vehicles instead of conventional fuel-powered vehicles CM said that a subsidy of more than ₹215 crore has been given to more than 85 thousand people having an EV vehicle.

 

The Chief Minister also made an important announcement in line with the first pillar of the budget to provide basic amenities to the poor and needy sections of tribal areas of Dang district, which includes approving a scheme worth ₹866 crore to provide surface source-based drinking water to the future generation of 279 villages of Dang district.

 

Under this scheme, 38 MLD of water will be provided to approximately 3.71 lakh tribal population through an 85 km long bulk pipeline constructed upstream of the existing Kakrapar weir of Tapi river, he said.

 

In order to provide medical education to the tribal youth at home government has started 8 medical colleges in forest areas like Valsad, Dahod, Rajpipla, and Godhra.

 

Under the new education policy announced by the central government, the government is moving in the direction that students can study professional courses like engineering and medicine in their mother tongue, a step has been taken in this direction by preparing various engineering subject books available in the Gujarati language.

 

An assistance of more than ₹1,800 crore has been provided so far to more than 4 lakh students of the state to pursue higher studies under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana.

 

Stating that the state government is working with the aim to strengthen the environment of safety, peace and security in Gujarat, the Chief Minister added that the state has adopted a “zero tolerance” policy against crime and criminals, including anti-social elements and drug peddlers, by boosting the morale of the police force. Be it the campaign against drugs or getting rid of moneylenders, the state government has brought a sense of peace to the law-and-order situation maintained in Gujarat.

 

Elaborating on the effective campaign carried out against moneylenders, he said, “To save the poor citizens from the clutches of moneylenders, the government has organized about 4 thousand Lok Darbars which was attended by more than 1.29 lakh people. Moreover, the government has given loans to more than 22 thousand needy people for self-employment and also to save people from the vicious cycle of interest.”

 

Praising the work carried out by the Gujarat government during the Biparjoy cyclone that hit Gujarat this year CM said that during the severe condition of the cyclone, more than 1 lakh people were taken to shelter homes on time and we battled hard against this calamity and ensured that we succeeded in ensuring zero casualty.

 

Because of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi which has resulted in India hosting the G20 Summit. Gujarat also achieved the honour of hosting more than 16 meetings of this summit. The vibrant summit initiated by the Prime Minister to put Gujarat on the world map of business and industrial investment has become a benchmark today.

 

The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will be held in the state in January-2024.

 

Expressing his joy for the fact that Gujarat has become the first-choice destination for investors from all over the world today he said that, Gujarat is committed to contributing the most in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a global hub for the semiconductor sector. He took pride in saying that Gujarat is the first state in the country to announce its own semiconductor policy. The first plant of semiconductor chips in the country with an investment of ₹22,500 crore is shaping up at Sanand. A state-of-the-art PM Mitra Park will be constructed in an area of 1141 acres at Vansi Borsi in Navsari.

 

A total of 3 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities will be created., defines CM.

 

CM appealed to everyone to remain committed towards Prime Minister’s ‘Panch Pran’ which includes moving forward with bigger resolves and resolve of a “developed” India; erasing all traces of slavery; being proud of our legacy; the strength of our unity and; duties of citizens.

An Air Force helicopter showered flower petals at the venue. Police band personnel played the national anthem and presented the national salute to the tricolour.

 

On this occasion, children performed Dangi nrutya, garba and patriotic songs. The citizens and dignitaries were mesmerized by the Demonstration of rescue by SDRF/MTF of Gujarat Police in disasters like Cyclone, Flood, Fire, Police Training Demo, Women’s Rifle Drill, Motor Cycle Stunt Show, Dog Show, Police Horse Show Acts as well as cultural works which were presented before them.

Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Shri Mukesh Puri, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration Department Shri Kamal Dayani, State Police Chief Shri Vikas Sahay, District Panchayat President Smt. Alka Shah, MP Dr. K.C.Patel, MLA’s Shri Jitu Chaudhary, Shri Bharat Patel, Shri Arvind Patel, District Collector Smt. Kshipra Agre, District Development Officer Shri Manish Gurwani, District Police Chief Dr. Karanraj Vaghela, prominent dignitaries and citizens of the district, officers and employees of the district administration were present for the occasion.
