Akshay Kumar’s film Lakshmi has been released on OTT platform. There was a lot of hype about the film. It was a Hindi remake of Lakshmi South’s superhit film Kanchana. But the film disappoints both in terms of horror and comedy. The film manages to entertain as well as inform. Akshay Kumar tries very hard but he also has some limitations. Similarly a very nice film from the South has been remade very badly.
If you have seen Kanch’s film, the story is the same but the treatment is different. There is nothing wrong with Akshay’s performance, but when you think the film should move fast, some scenes end that pace. After a long time Akshay has tried to do justice to the serious character despite the comedy. In Lakshmi’s character, Sharad Kelkar’s character is small but leaves an impression. If you are scared of horror movies then watch this movie because this is not a horror movie, but it gives a message.
