After captivating audiences in Uttaran, veteran actress Kruttika Desai makes a powerful return to COLORS with its upcoming show, ‘Meri Bhavya Life’—a bold narrative that confronts entrenched societal stereotypes around body image and expectations.

At the core of the story is Bhavya, portrayed by Prisha Dhatwalia—a confident, intelligent, and plump architect who refuses to let her worth be defined by her appearance. After being cruelly abandoned at the mandap by a man who only viewed her as a ladder to power, Bhavya decides to rebuild her life on her own terms. In a twist of fate, she crosses paths with Rishank (played by Karan Vohra), a self-absorbed fitness enthusiast who values superficial perfection, setting the stage for an emotionally charged and layered journey of opposites.

Kruttika Desai steps into the role of Damayanti Thakur, better known as Bua Maa—Rishank’s daadi bua. A woman whose past is marked by abandonment, Damayanti transformed her pain into power. Outwardly poised and steeped in tradition, she is anything but simple. Every tear is a calculated move, every silence a strategy. Her goal? Unquestioned control over her household. But Bhavya’s arrival threatens to upend everything she’s carefully built. Is Bua Maa’s reign on the verge of unraveling?

Reflecting on her role, Kruttika shares:

“Having portrayed many strong and layered women throughout my career, slipping into Bua Maa’s skin felt familiar, yet refreshingly different. Damayanti isn’t your typical loud, dramatic bua. She’s calm, composed, and chillingly strategic. Her strength lies in her silence, and that quiet power was a joy to explore as an actor. This role didn’t need overthinking—it needed instinct, subtlety, and a depth that comes from experience. And returning to COLORS for this makes it all the more special—it truly feels like coming home.”

‘Meri Bhavya Life’ premieres on 30th April, airing every day at 7:00 PM, exclusively on COLORS.
