The Indian cricket team chased down a difficult 195-run target in the second T20I match against Australia to win. India needed 14 runs in the final over and Hardik Pandya hit six to help India win the match. Former India opener Gautam Gambhir believes that Hardik is a batsman who can chase any target.
Gambhir called Hardik a batsman like former Indian legends Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. He says that just like the two batsmen used to finish the match for Team India earlier, the same ability is within Hardik. Gambhir said that if Hardik is playing, India can win by scoring 25 runs out of 20 in the final over. Hardik Pandya used to play such batting in the Indian Premier League and now if you come to international cricket playing such batting, your confidence increases. Pandya has played such a good batting for Mumbai Indians. Hardik didn’t do anything new on Sunday.
“There are very few players like Hardik Pandya, before that India had Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Australia has Glenn Maxwell in the squad,” Gambhir said. Which is capable of chasing any target. Even if you need to score 20 to 25 runs in the final over, these players give you confidence that they can achieve this goal.
“I’m glad to see the scoreboard keep going,” Hardick said after the match. It lets you know how to shoot and what options you have. I have been through such situations. I have learned a lot from my mistakes. My game has always been good because of my confidence and I always carry it. This is a very thin line, where I believe in myself because it can only be won with confidence.
