The newly constructed ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Administrative Building and Auditorium’ of Mandvi Municipality at Mandvi in Surat district was inaugurated by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani through virtual medium. In addition, he launched the e-launch of the ‘Citizen Smart Card’ scheme. Congratulating the Mandvi ‘D’ class municipality for launching the Citizen Smart Card scheme across the country, the Chief Minister said in a virtual medium that the government is committed to creating a corruption free, fast and transparent system by making maximum use of digital technology. By the end of this December, a total of 51 services will be available in 8000 villages through e-service bridges, out of which 35 services are currently operational, he said, adding that small villages and towns will be connected through digital medium.
The Chief Minister said that Pandit Deendayalji’s spirit of Antyodaya, the vision of human well-being, the Gujarat government’s commitment to realize the mantra of ‘convenience wherever human beings are’, expressed happiness over the renaming of Pandit Deendayalji of Mandvi Municipality. Let us pay true homage to Pandit Deendayalji by adopting the spirit of national welfare and social welfare.
While the state government is working towards making everyone feel safe and secure in Gandhiji and Sardar’s Gujarat, the state government has started implementing the Land Grabbing Act to crack down on land mafia. The Act provides for a sentence of 10 to 14 years. Stating that ‘Safe and Safe Gujarat’ is the name of the state government along with developing Gujarat, the Chief Minister added that the approval of the construction plan plan under the new ODPS in the state is now available within hours. He expressed the view that it is necessary to make the cities and villages of Gujarat livable and enjoyable as well as increase the Happiness Index.
The Chief Minister further said that the Smart Citizen Scheme of Mandvi Municipality will be an inspiration for the country as well as other municipalities. The plan is to provide secure digital locker facilities to 7000 families in Mandvi town, which will be very helpful in providing basic amenities in future. He expressed confidence that the scheme would also bring pride to the state.
On the occasion, MP Prabhu Vasava said that the state government has succeeded in keeping the citizens of the state safe and preventing the transition by taking effective measures in the Koro epidemic, which is entirely due to the efficient leadership of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The new administrative complex of the municipality will be a symbol of people-oriented administration and the citizen smart card scheme will be freed from the hassle of having various papers and proofs, he said.
