The Gujarat government said in a press release that 47 nurses have been recruited with immediate effect and more will be recruited as per the guidelines of the state government so that patients can be better served by the growing hospital system of Corona patients at PDU Civil Hospital, Rajkot. Hitendra Zakharia, Superintendent of Nursing, PDU Civil Hospital, Rajkot, said that with 47 new appointments, the number of nursing staff at the dedicated Corona Hospital of PDU Civil Hospital has now increased to 802. The sisters work in three shifts. Staff Brothers also serve in different shifts.
The performance of the nursing staff at the Civil Hospital in Rajkot has already been commendable. In the year 2020, more than 100 sisters became infected with corona during the service and treatment of patients. Recovering from Corona’s transition, the sisters returned to service. Due to the high incidence of corona in the second wave which started in March, the Rajkot Civil Hospital has been receiving critically ill patients from outside Rajkot as well as the doctors of Rajkot Civil Hospital as well as the paramedical staff of Rajkot’s nursing sisters.
In view of the current situation in Corona, the Nasing sisters working in three shifts on different floors of Kovid Hospital, Civil Hospital, Rajkot are given regular training. Necessary understanding of the need for medication and injections at night as well as necessary follow-up of the patient from the reliever when the duty changes and the guidance given by the doctor, treatment as well as understanding and professional values including patient care and help .
