Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani gave a green signal to the new in-house sleeper coach buses of GSRTC and said that the State Transport Corporation shall make 1700 more in-house buses for the common people.
He said the state transport corporation has progressed in a holistic manner and the state government will slowly start more and more Volvo buses equipped with AC and other modern amenities for the ease of the passengers.
He also added that the GSRTC is the first state transport corporation to have in-house sleeper coach buses.
It is to be noted here that the GSRTC has Asia’s largest workshop in Naroda where the employees have made 31 sleeper coaches keeping in mind the various technicalities and intricacies involved.
The state government has purchased chassis of 1500 super express buses and 325 semi-luxury buses and given an approval for making the in house bus body.
State Transport Minister R.C Faldu, State Minsiter Ishwarsinh Patel, Chief Secretary Dr. J.N Singh and various other officials of the corporation were present on the occasion.
