The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) today said that if Covid-19 vaccination causes any health problem and has to be admitted to a hospital, the insurance companies will have to bear the entire cost. This means that if a person has health insurance and has to be hospitalized due to a problem after getting the corona vaccine, the insurance company cannot refuse to pay the hospital expenses to that person.
The IRDAI said in a statement on Thursday that there had been reports in the media that the corona vaccine had caused side effects and that the insurance company would help the patient if he was admitted to the hospital. That is why it is clarified that if there are any side effects after taking the corona vaccine and have to be admitted to the hospital, the insurance company will have to pay the cost of the hospital. That is why the insurance companies have to follow the rules that they have made earlier.
Some health workers questioned the insurance company that they had to be hospitalized after being vaccinated against the corona virus. Explaining whether the cost of treatment for this patient will be borne by the insurance companies, Irda said that the consumer can make a claim as per the general terms and conditions of the health insurance policy. On the other hand, state-owned insurer LIC has made the settlement process easier for consumers in the wake of the Kovid crisis. The company said that the customer will be able to submit the documents attached to the maturity time of his policy to any office in the country.
