A man has cheated Rs 34,000 with Harshita, daughter of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Harshita provided information for the sale of sofas on an e-commerce platform and the man cheated by claiming to be a buyer. An FIR was registered at the Civil Lines Police Station in the northern district under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code after the police received a notification in this regard on Sunday, police said on Monday.
According to police, the CM’s daughter had placed an advertisement for the sale of a sofa on an e-commerce site. The person approached himself expressing interest in the purchase. He transferred a small amount to Harshita’s account in the name of having the account correct. The person then sent him a QR code and asked him to scan it so that the prescribed amount could be transferred to his account, but in doing so Rs 20,000 was deducted from Harshita’s account.
Harshita then complained to the man, who said it was a mistake. Upon such processing, Rs 14,000 was deducted from Harshita’s account. “Based on the complaint received, we have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the IPC,” the police official said. An investigation has been launched and we are looking for the accused.
