Pick small steps, move in silence, talk softly,
For you may, just about disturb somebody.
My dear ones sleep here, lying in peace,
Their lives have come to an end, and all their trouble ceased.
As I move around the cemetery with a heavy heart,
With prayer on my lips and memories of the day they did depart.
The worldly life then doesn’t seem worthwhile any more.
I am filled with a different kind of remorse like never before.
I think I am living my life well, rushing around to fulfil my dreams,
But that’s just what I think, just what it seems.
It’s only when I come here, that I think twice,
Of all the bad I’ve done, and to God I’ll have to pay my price.
I’ll try and come here more often, as much as I can,
To keep reminding myself to live better, the remaining of my life span.
My dear departed souls………
No matter where I go, I can’t run away from God or my conscious too,
For someday I’ll have to come here and lie down with you.
