Mumbai: Challenging conventional definitions of success, the upcoming Hindi feature film Drop Out poses a compelling question—what if quitting is not the end, but the beginning? The film officially commenced its journey with the nationwide release of its original soundtrack today.

Following an engaging media interaction with the film’s core creative team, the music album is now streaming across leading platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. The soundtrack is distributed by Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. and is expected to complement the film’s emotionally rich narrative.

A Story Rooted in Identity and Aspirations

Set against the earthy and evocative backdrop of rural Uttar Pradesh, Drop Out unfolds as a coming-of-age drama centered on a young individual compelled to leave formal education. At a critical juncture in life, he must decide whether to accept societal labels or redefine his own path to success.

The film delves into themes of self-worth, resilience, and the courage required to break away from traditional benchmarks of achievement—making it highly relevant in today’s evolving socio-economic landscape.

Strong Creative Collaboration

The film is helmed by Omkar Pethkar, who also serves as the writer, bringing to life a story conceptualized by Umashanker Yadav.

The cast features Tanushka Sharma and Uday Singh in lead roles, supported by seasoned performers Rajendra Gupta and Mushtaq Khan. Notably, Umashanker Yadav also appears on screen, marking his acting debut.

On the musical front, lyrics are penned by Dr. Sagar, with compositions by Vadodara-based duo Prajval Pandya and Param Bhagat. The songs feature vocals by emerging talents Arun Dev Yadav and Soumee Shailesh.

Release Timeline

With the soundtrack already gaining traction this April, anticipation is building steadily for the film’s theatrical release. The makers describe Drop Out as a “grounded and thought-provoking” cinematic experience aimed at resonating with audiences across the country.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 22, 2026.
